The Trouble with Dreams

The Trouble with Dreams

You ever try bobbing for apples

Spearing a fish

To grasp a dream is to drown in the process

It is grasping at a distorted image

What is seen is a reflection of what is desired

To fail to take hold is not to drown

But you do have to swallow a little water

To pen it down isn’t impossible

But you do have to take it at a different angle

You ever try chasing your dreams

Wake in the twilight with an emotion unexplainable

Feel your heart beat in response to a call you couldn’t hear

A dream is a ghost only your body remembers
